Speakers
Councillor Anthony Okereke is the leader of the Royal Borough of Greenwich. He also sits on the Arts Council England London Area Council. As Leader of the Royal Borough of Greenwich, Cllr Anthony Okereke is dedicated to improving residents’ quality of life, tackling the cost-of-living crisis, and addressing the climate emergency. He is committed to creating a capital for everyone, with safe and secure housing, vibrant neighbourhoods, and outstanding green spaces.
Daniel Bernstein is CEO of Emergency Exit Arts, who have led on the creation and development of the Greenwich CEP. He previously spent 5 years as Development Officer at Arts Council England, and as a Producer with Creative Partnerships where he studied under Mathilde Joubert (who worked closely with Ken Robinson) who has inspired so much thinking in Creative Education.
Michele Gregson is General Secretary and CEO of the National Society for Education in Art and Design – the trade union, professional body and learned society for art, craft and design professionals.
Michele has worked throughout her career with children, young people and educators in arts education and cultural settings. She firmly believes in the power of the collective – working together to make change through the arts.
Ross Hunter is programme manager at A New Direction. He works as part of our Education and Culture team supporting the delivery of our schools’ programmes. Ross worked as a secondary school teacher in Camden for three years and before that also worked as a director and producer for a range of theatre and community arts projects.
Timi is a young person representing Greenwich Young People’s Council. GYPC is a group of elected young people who represent the views of children and young people in Royal Greenwich. They influence decisions across the council.
